Miltner Adams Company Releases First in Line of Tactical Folders Đ the MA-1
Good news for people who are serious about their knives, the MA-1 is here.
The MA-1 is Miltner Adams Company's first production tactical folder to feature their revolutionary Integral Folding Knife Sharpener and HollowFlat™ Blade (patents pending). Built directly into the knife is the Diamond Sharpening and Steeling device. Sharpening on Demand. Not only can you sharpen, you can easily maintain that sharp edge even longer by steeling the blade using the same convenient, built-in dual surface Diamond Sharpening/Steeling element. The Diamond Sharpening/Steeling element has four sides - two sides are diamond plated (Coarse and Ultra-Fine diamond grits) for sharpening and two plain steel sides for steeling. ItŐs easy to use anytime, anywhere. All the sharpening and steeling takes place inside the handle only when you decide to do so.
Deceptively Complex
The MA-1 is built to the highest manufacturing and design standards. A deceptively complex design, Miltner Adams sought out the best in global manufacturing to meet their rigid requirements: Gutjahr GmbH of Germany and DMT® (Diamond Machining Technology) world leaders in precision cnc machining for lightweight construction process technologies and diamond sharpening, respectively.
Only the finest available materials are used in the MA-1. The blade is made of PM Elmax Superclean stainless, the best steel available for edge holding, toughness and stain resistance. The skeleton style handle is constructed of two-pieces, precisely machined Titanium (MA-1/T), or hard anodized High-Strength Special Aluminum (MA-1/A) and is secured by six stainless steel screws. Sparing no expense, the MA-1's clip is also Titanium. The result is in an extremely stiff and solid design.
The exchangeable, dual surface Diamond Sharpening/Steeling element is made in the U.S.A. by DMT® exclusively for the Miltner Adams Company.

The MA-1 ergonomically designed pistol grip handle fits comfortably in your hand as well as in your pocket, despite its generous size. A single-hand opener, it also features a push-button locking mechanism for safety and ease of use. Sharpen or steel the MA-1 blade anytime, anywhere you need, because the Diamond Sharpening/Steeling device is built-in, designed with both a diamond plated surface for sharpening and a plain steel surface for steeling.

No gadgets to carry or cumbersome tools to fumble with, lose or forget. Nothing to set-up or assemble. Everything you need is always with you, right in your knife.
Sharpening Breakthrough
Historically, maintaining a sharp edge on a blade has always been quite a chore. Matching the precise beveling angle is crucial and with the newly developed hardened steels, the average user has quite a challenge ahead of them to keep their favorite knife sharp. In fact, today, despite the plethora of gadgets, tools and products available for sharpening, many of the leading knife manufacturers suggest that you send your knife back to the factory for resharpening.
This has all changed with the invention of the Integral Folding knife Sharpener and HollowFlat™ Blade. You don't need any special skills or knowledge to use the Integral Folding knife Sharpener. There is no need to worry about matching the angle of the blade's bevel; the HollowFlat™ Blade has a single raised flat bevel on the hollow ground side of the blade, which perfectly matches the sharpening element built into the interior wall of the handle. With a little lateral pressure and a few quick back and forth motions your blade is sharpened and ready for use. ItŐs that simple.
And there's more. Not only can you sharpen, you can easily maintain that sharp edge even longer by steeling the blade using the same convenient built-in element, designed with two diamond plated surfaces (Coarse and Ultra-Fine grits) for sharpening and two plain steel surfaces for steeling. Normally, steeling a blade is extremely difficult to do correctly, but not the case here. Again, you don't need any special skills or knowledge. It's simple, fast and convenient to steel the blade correctly everytime and will dramatically extend the period in-between sharpening.
